Hull partnership to offer serviced apartments to local workers
UK: MyPad Serviced and Iguana Developments have teamed up to offer serviced apartments to local workers in The Glass House, Hull.
MyPad Serviced and Iguana Developments are offering some of the 94 apartments at The Glass House, the former Queens Gardens Police Station.
The apartments will be specifically offered to local employers who provide temporary accommodation for their staff. The £22 million development has been welcoming residents since 2020 but has now extended its offering to local employers.
The Glass House is located in the centre of Hull’s cultural hub where residents can enjoy the museum quarter, theatre district, Old Town, Marina, art galleries, Trinity Market, Hull Minster, shops and restaurants on their doorstep.
Nikki Blowers, director of MyPad Serviced, said: “MyPad Serviced works with a variety of local employers to provide temporary accommodation. It can be tricky finding the right solution for contractor teams, apprentices and management staff. From experience, we know that at the end of the working day, employees away from home want more than a hotel room or studio apartment. Therefore, I am very excited to be able to offer our clients this type of property.”
Sarah Gill, finance director at Iguana Developments, added: “We are pleased that our city centre schemes; Liberty House and Essex House have been fully occupied for over two years. The Glass House is also approaching full occupancy with a broad community of owner-occupiers, young professionals, retirees and others who choose to rent. We agreed to make a limited number of apartments available to MyPad Serviced as they offer an exceptional service, which includes anything from a simple weekly clean to chef prepared meals and transport to their place of employment. This approach is unique in the city and we wanted to be part of it.”
Hull may also have another 22 serviced apartments if the old Cornmill Hotel development gets the green light.
