UK: Global hospitality platform Otolo has been awarded a two-year programme to deliver 4,000 CPD-accredited coaching courses for London-based hospitality employees and managers.

The Otolo project is backed by a European Social Fund grant, private funding and mentoring pledges from leaders across the industry.

Industry experts and accredited coaches will run each course which are free to those working in hospitality within London. Participants are matched with a mentor through Otolo’s algorithm based on areas of interest as well as levels of expertise.

Mentors include professionals from Hyatt, Accor, Marriott International, Expedia, Selina, Too Good To Go, IHG and more.

Otolo has also partnered with TIP Hospitality founders, Martijn and Monika Mulder, to give back to London front-line workers. Course participants will be offered a year’s worth of hospitality perks and discounts alongside career support. The. Mulder’s have committed to pledging over £4,000 in equivalent mentoring hours.

James Lemon, founder and CEO, said: “We are incredibly excited to have won a grant and are grateful for the opportunity it gives us to help the industry recover and thrive, giving back to thousands of people.

“Being recognised by the government and European Social Fund helps us play a bigger role in building the future of hospitality, so we’re going to keep on innovating in the way hospitality people learn, the way employers develop their people, and the reputation of the industry as an amazing career and sector to work in.”

Lemon added: “It’s going to be a really exciting 2022 building out our teams and our new technology. That and making sure we have a positive social impact, while also building a strong and sustainable business.”
