Worldwide: Vacation rental search engine VacationRenter has unveiled upgrades to its platform and expanded its inventory through new partnerships.

With more than 30 million users across the globe, VacationRenter has made improvements to its platform to simplify and personalise the user experience.

A re-envisioned home page now offers personalised travel inspiration, price alerts for users to be notified about deals, and priority updates such as showing that properties in a given destination may be close to selling out during the customer’s chosen travel dates.

The company has also launched full site translations in German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and Polish. Key information for almost 6,000 locations globally have been enhanced too, including FAQs and details on local attractions.

Swiss-based Interhome is VacationRenter’s latest partner. The group offers more than 30,000 homes and apartments in Europe and the US. Additionally, VacationRenter’s partnership with Plum Guide has been expanded to give customers better access to Plum Guide’s homes.

A new Traveller Resource Center has been added to the VacationRenter site, providing destination and property-specific information including the latest Covid-related restrictions and guidelines. Similarly, a new VacationRenter Travel Trends page will publish booking trends such as the most popular destinations and average nightly prices.

CEO Heath Hammett said: “Seeing the continued resurgence in our customers’ researching and booking new trips keeps us motivated to make finding the perfect rental as easy as possible. Researching and booking vacation rentals can be frustrating and time-consuming. Our platform helps make the experience easier.

“We are always working on making our site better. Our latest upgrades focus on improving the user experience for our international customers, as well as giving all customers more information and tools to quickly find the perfect rental.”

According to recent company data, US travellers are seven times more likely to resume travel at home, and global travellers four times more likely to travel outside the United States.

Last year, VacationRenter surpassed $1 billion in gross booking value. The company was founded in 2018 and brings all rental options from leading travel sites together on one platform.
